Zilretta – Dose Preparation

When Dudnyk first came to us with the Zilretta Dose Preparation video we realized it was a perfect match – a project requiring all of our core capabilities, and playing to all our strengths. Live-action in-studio green-screen shoot, check. Long-form editorial, check. Photo-real 3D modeling and animation, check! Expert compositing, sleek motion GFX design & animation, as well as VO, sound design, and mix – check, check, and check. We had all the talent and tools under one roof, and to top it off, we’re all seasoned veterans in pharma video production. As perfect a match as it gets.

Like any live-action production should, we started with pre-production – meeting with the agency and client several times to learn about the product, learn about the audience, and make sure everyone involved had a detailed understanding of the process and the expected outcome. Shots were blocked out, wardrobe and props were assembled, and the stage was set for a well-oiled shoot with clients on hand to ensure the detailed process and medical accuracy of preparing this drug was faithfully followed.

In post, we took all the physical elements involved from the shoot, drug vials, syringes, even rubber gloves, and recreated them in 3D for the opening scene – the materials checklist. At the same time editorial and graphic design kicked off so that all of the parallel tracks synched up down the line. No project would be complete without some kind of hitch, which came in the form of a last-minute label change not long before the video was set to deliver. Luckily our team is also skilled at tracking and compositing so the delay on our part was virtually zero.

In the end we delivered the Zilretta Dose Preparation video, from tip to tail, using only our in-house directors, producers, designers, modelers, editor, and engineer. The result – a happy client and a happy agency. It’s not easy to find a one-stop-shop with the knowledge and knowhow to take on such a complicated project. But for this project, and many others like it, we’re it.
